The hand-engraved surface of the flow beaker describes water patterns. Circular ripples of movement and ribboned bands of shadow are revealed in the transparent painted enamel. The fine gold details are abstracted shapes. Some people see birds flying over the surface others are reminded of fish swimming under. For me the overall effect is of movement in a gentle current.
