In this piece the enamel is based on the dappled shadows of leaves moving in the wind. The sense of capturing the ephemeral creates an appearance of movement in the enamel. Each area of the beaker is distinctive and catches the light across the surface. Different lighting conditions alters the view. I use transparent enamel over engraved silver and thus the one material dances with the other to beguile and trap the light, or in this case the beauty of a shadow.
